Campus Connection: Dance is important for the UofT community because it offers an outlet for creativity, beauty, art and expression as a breath of fresh air from the rigorous push of academia with which students are daily engaged.
About Us: Hogtown Swing is dedicated to the preservation, promotion and progression of authentic jazz dance and is a major contributor to swing dancing in Toronto. The Hogtown Swing Performance Team, featuring award-winning American Swing Dance champion and choreographer Dan Amores, specializes on the re-creation of dances from the swing era including Swing, Lindy Hop, Charleston, Flapper, Balboa and Rock ‘n Roll. They have performed in and outside of the GTA. Hogtown Swing Performers have also been seen at jazz festivals all over Ontario, featured on television specials (CBC, CTV, MuchMusic, W network etc) and consulted as dance entertainment expertise for movies in front of and behind the cameras. Hogtown Swing also provides entertainment for corporate events, weddings and parties.
